Meet Tim Roberts

Your host, Tim Roberts, has been a BNI member, BNI Leadership Team Member, BNI Ambassador, BNI Director, BNI Managing Director, BNI Executive Director, and BNI USA National Director.

Tim is currently the largest franchise owner in the United States, and over the past 23 years in this organization has learned the hard way what works and, more importantly, what doesn’t when it comes to passing and receiving referrals in BNI.

Mission & Values

This podcast is about helping BNI members learn tips, strategies, and insight into maximizing their membership! Each week, we record multiple episodes with different focuses. Some episodes are BNI-specific, some are focused on business operations, and others are solely focused on reviewing and coaching BNI Weekly Presentations.

Meet Michael Martin

A native of New Hampshire, Michael began his career in sales over 25 years ago – not knowing at the time he’d be involved with several brands that introduced industry-changing products resulting in substantial growth.

After graduating from Saint Anselm College, he got his start in the sporting goods business with Atomic Ski USA and Oxygen Inline Skates. He remained there for almost 13 years – the last eight as Director of Sales Operations. He was subsequently hired by global footwear brand Vibram to help launch their fledgling Vibram FiveFingers shoe division in January of 2007, tasked with developing retail distribution and helping build out company infrastructure. The team’s efforts led to four consecutive years of triple-digit growth during the 2008-2011 recession, and in May of 2011 Michael was honored by his peers in the sporting goods industry worldwide as a Sporting Goods Business Magazine Top 40 Under 40 winner.

Career Highlights

He founded MDM Ventures in 2015 to focus his passion, energy, and drive on helping others succeed through sharing and coaching the proven mindset and tools he has used in his own achievements. Michael has been a featured guest speaker at colleges and universities, trade events and large business forums globally, on topics ranging from product innovation, sales strategy, marketing and business development. In 2017, he helped develop and launch the Saint Anselm College Center for Ethics in Business & Governance and served on its Board of Advisors for six years. He is also a past-Chair of the Saint Anselm College Presidents Society Council.
Most recently, Michael was selected as a New Hampshire 200 recipient for 2024 by NH Business Review, recognizing a “unique group of people who have made their mark on New Hampshire’s economy, business climate, and the state as a whole.”

Since 1997, he has actively managed a children’s pediatric oncology fundraiser that has contributed over $1M for research and treatment programs for local children in need.
